Phnom Penh, March 15, 2024 – Cambodian students have a unique opportunity to advance their education in the People's Republic of China, thanks to a scholarship program for the academic year 2024-2025, facilitated by Hun Manet and Pich Chanmony.

A total of 80 scholarships are available for students to pursue Mandarin language studies at both the Bachelor’s and Master’s degree levels at prestigious Chinese universities. These educational grants are provided as part of a strategic initiative to bolster the linguistic and cultural competencies of the youth in Cambodia.

The scholarships will be distributed across several esteemed institutions, including Sun Yat-sen University and Beijing University of Technology, among others. The benefits for selected students encompass tuition fees, a monthly support allowance, and accommodation, laying a comprehensive foundation for their overseas studies.

Eligibility for the scholarship is broad, inviting Cambodian nationals under 25 years old for Bachelor’s degree applications and under 35 years old for Master’s. Special provisions are available for those interested in a foundation course at Jiujiang University, with age limits expanded up to 45 years old for Chinese language teachers. Proficiency in English and Mandarin will be considered an advantage for applicants.

The selection process for these coveted spots requires candidates to scan a QR code to obtain the application form and submit it to the scholarship association's office by March 31, 2024. The scholarships are designed to cover significant academic expenses, although recipients are expected to handle other costs such as airfare, visa fees, health insurance, and personal living expenses.

This scholarship program not only underlines the commitment to fostering educational growth among Cambodian youth but also strengthens the cultural and academic ties between Cambodia and China.
